Greater Mesilla Valley Aerostat Ascension Association

Welcome to the Mesilla Valley. In January each year I have the pleasure of flying some great people from Las Cruces, New Mexico. Lane and Dave have been doing a tag team now for a few years. Dave has an insurance company and Lane has Bauer Chiropractic. These guys are the greatest. One sponsors the balloon and the other puts together the tailgate. Champagne and lots to eat. Thanks guys for all you have done. Lane had been my sponsor since 1999. 2008 was the last Mesilla Valley Balloon Rally. A real shame. The second largest city in New Mexico and they can't find the people to run it or the sponsors to pay for it. In 2009 the balloon club decided to take the traditional days for the rally and do a club fly in. Not as impressive as the rally but we did have fun. Lane and Dave just did what they always do and got a crew together and the money they would usually spend on sponsorship they spent on fuel and food. Thanks guys.

For 2010 we have 15 balloons on the field and we had a blast. Weather was ideal. Our group flew for 1 hour 30 and had 3 hops flying 9 crew. All landings were with crew below to receive us. What a crew! 3 Catches!
